Hi! Sorry for necro-ing such an old post, but I also have an HP Pro 3500, with 4GB Ram. I recently bought a nVidia GeForce GTX650 video card and after reading through the posts, I'm wondering if I'll have any issues with this card.
First of my concerns is size. I purchased it from eBay and the dimensions were not available, but, in general, will it fit inside the casing? I know that this is a microtower, after all.
Second is the issue that's currently being discussed here, with the system not recognizing the presence of the video card. Is this a universal issue with all the Pro 3500 PCs? Or are all of these just special cases?
I also noticed that my purchased video card was NOT on the list provided, with all the known supported cards, but as I have come to understand, that list only shows which cards are availble for purchase WITH the PC itself from HP. So will my graphics card work after all?
Another this is that solution that was presented; the step by step one. I'm not entirely sure I can do all that properly, so could someone try to explain it in a more... "practical" way? Like, an explanation meant for someone who understands computers mechanically better than he knows it programming-wise.
I'm sorry for posting on such an old post, but please respond to my issue as soon as you have the time to. Your help is greatly appreciated!
