Good Day,
My ZBook 15 Mobile Workstation running Windows 8.1 is losing connection to USB 3.0 devices through it's USB 3.0 ports when transfering data to or from a device for longer than 5-10 minutes.
1. This happens when plugged in, docked or on battery.
2. I do not have any other devices connected.
3. I mostly use USB 3.0 write blockers (Tableau, wiebeTECH) but I have the same issue with standard USB 3.0 flash drives and external hard drives.
4. The method for copying is usually FTK or EnCase but I have also tried standard windows copying, robocopy, teracopy and evidence mover.
5. When attempting this with a usb 2.0 port I do not have the issue. I have also not had the issue come up when connecting a USB 2.0 device to a USB 3.0 port.
I have not found anything regarding this issue within the forums but google found some power issues related to this on other machines. In other cases driver updates seemed to fix the issue.
I have updated to the newest driver on HP Support. I am not getting any error message and the time frame to disconnection varies.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Jeremy
