Thanks, yet again. Yes I did  see these were ECC and not non-ECC, but some posts claim you can use the ECC but the machine may run slower due to the error corrrection.

But I trust you and your help.  I'll return these and try yet one more time. (Any of my other old machines I just bought the sticks and plugged 'em in. I have made two purchases in error for this HP machine.
