Hi there
I am using an HP Pro 3010 5FF which was pre-installed with Win7 Professional. I have been having the RED SCREEN errors as above, and have tried all the suggestions to recover the machine (using the supplied recovery disks) about 12 times now. I have tried the following:
Ethernet dis-connected
Mouse & Keyboard dis-connected
Screen (TV) on HDMI dis-connected
I have taken the BIOS battery out for 5 minutes and then replaced.
I am using a standard screen connected through a D-connector on the Graphics card.
So basically the software is being installed with ONLY a normal screen attached!!!
I have made progress because the screen displays Windows 7 startup screen, then ' Setup is preparing your computer for first use', then the error:
Windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, restart the installation
and again..........and again..........and again..........(whenever I retry).
It appears to me that Windows 7 has been installed, but I cannot get access to it.
If I just crash the machine, wait and restart, I get the SAFE Menu (the cursor keys and the space bar work OK). But it then continues as before.
The strange think is that I was supplied by HP with a copy of Windows XP (SP3) in addition to Windows 7 Professional, and this will install quite normaly. However having bought the machine with Windows 7 on it, that is what I want.
Can anybody suggest any OTHER things I can do to get this machine to work normaly????
