Hello...
I switched my 3 year old desktop on today and two of the cooling fans were immediately roaring (4500+ RPM and 3700+ RPM) and never stopped until the computer was shut down. I installed SpeedFan to see if I could somehow control the speed of the fans but to no avail. I have rebooted several times however the fans continue on maximum.
I checked the Bios but there do not appear to be any available settings for the fans.
According to SpeedFan, the CPU temp is 99C. This is the reading from a cold computer in a cool room that has just been booted so I wonder if there might be an issue with some heat sensors. The CPU is still cool to the touch as is the GPU. I must say though that I am at a loss about what to do as I have not been able to find a solution which addresses my situation specifically. I will certainly appreciate any assistance.
Some particulars:
HP Pavilion HPE h8-1160t CTO Desktop
IPISB-CH2 Motherboard
Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit)
Thanks!
