What is your PC model?
Hello!!
Did you find out the screws???
Greetings from Vienna
Alex
hello im lokking to upgrade the case of my dc7900 sff pc to a tower case but im not sure if the motherboard would fit a tower case. is this possible?
Hi,
Did you solved the issue ?
I have the same exact problem with different INTEL NIC.
The NIC was working in 8300 station.
When We bought 800G1 the PC is bipping and not starting with this NIC inside.
Thanks.
Prodesk600g1 tower. I want upgrade my prodesk with a better graphics card a Gainward GeForce GTX 970 4GB PhysX CUDA. But it needs more power than 320w psu can give. The psu in my prodesk is not a standard ATX psu it is 1 cm higher. Is there a way to put a standard psu in my computer ?
Hello Hardware Gods!
What screw do I need to fix a msata SSD drive on the mainboard??? Seems to be a very small one or other way?????
Thanks! Alex
I have a dc7900 SFF and i attempted to replace the power supply with a 650 W ATX standard supply - no luck - no power - no lights what so ever - works fine in my equivalent Lenovo PC - Seems HPs is a proprietary PS design that prevents a standard atx from being used. I understand HPs logic to try to design a more efficient PS, but make it incompatible with a standard - i'll be switching my choice in manufacturers
Hi Guys,
I am struggling to change the password protected BIOS setting using Powershell/WMI. The following command runs successfully to the HP DC8300 Desktop if the password is null.
$BIOS_Config= Get-WmiObject -ComputerName [PC Name] -Namespace root/hp/instrumentedBIOS -Class HP_BIOSSettingInterface -EnableAll
$BIOS_Config.SetBIOSSetting('After Power Loss', 'On', '')
However, I run this command to password protected BIOS (HP DC 8300 Desktop) by inserting password, I always get Access Denied return code. I know the password I am entering is correct.
Also, Can I setup the BIOS password using the above approach in which the currnet password is blank?
Your help would be highly appreciated.

I need to replace the motherboard on my mothers HP DC7700P small form factor pc. I can not discover what type of board I need. Can someone please tell my the type number of the board that I need so that I can order one on Ebay or some such place?
I think I found one but I am not sure because I do not know the exact part number (and can't find that on the HP site)
^^ would that work?
Thank you for taking your time to answer me :)
Hi:
The system board in the eBay link you posted should work just fine.
Here's the parts and service map with part numbers, FYI.
I found this one with the same part number designations for less from this guy...
Did you try to reset BIOS by pressing button on mainboard or extracting CMOS battery? Do it this first and try again.
I think I've tried everything...
I have an EliteBook 8470p with Samsung Pro 128GB SSD (HP P/N: 717353-001). I'm trying to upgrade it to a larger SSD. So far I have tried two models: Samsung EVO 840 500GB and SanDisk Ultra II 240GB. I have also tried several cloning software: Samsung Migration Tool, CloneDisk, MiniTool Partition Wizard, DriveImage XML, CloneZilla, etc. The result is always the same. Windows 7 will not start from the cloned drive. I get Blue Screen with message "STOP: 0x0000007B" which hints there is something wrong with HDD driver. Windows won't even start with Safe Mode but Safe Mode tells me the last driver loaded (or tried to load) is CLASSPNP.SYS. After that the Blue Screen appears.
I've also tried repairing the installation with Windows 7 CD - no help. I've googled and read dozens on pages and tried several tricks, e.g. modifying the registry with external tool and change the HDD driver. Nothing helps. I even took the laptop to local computer shop but they ended up exactly as I did - Windows didnt' start after cloning.
What is so different about this laptop? I have upgraded at least 20 HDDs to SDDs or SDD's to larger ones but never had such a hard case. Is there something in the BIOS that hinders changing the SDD? Have anyone successed to change the hard disk on this model?
Any resoltuion for this? I just placed an order for the tool but It's unfathomable to me that HP would require you to purchase a tool in order to get to the machine's internal components.
I'm having the same exact issue. New machine out of the box, I go to install a dual video card and unable to open the side panel. There are no external screws or visible locks other than the latch on the panel. I go into the BIOS and the Smart Cover Lock option just simply isn't displayed.
I've searched endlessly to why is the Smart Cover Lock option is missing in the BIOS when I go into the security option but can not find an answer. I too also am unable to get to HP technical chat after keying in my product number/name and these machines were purchased with the 1 year extended warranty ontop of the 1 year manufactur warranty.
A bit frustrating having to purchase an $8~ tool for my techs at 14 plus facilities. If anyone has had any luck please advise. Thanks.

Hi,
We a trialing HP EliteDesk 800 G1 desktop PC for next PC refresh. OROM version 12.5.0.1815 in RAID Mode. OS running Windows 7 64 Bit. RST Driver Version 13.2.4.1000
With SATA3 HDD ONLY, HDD Sequence read/write : 78/69 MB/s which is normal.
With 30GB Sandisk U100 SSD plus same HDD and Acceleration Mode: Enhanced. HDD Sequence read/write : 184/17 MB/s. The Write speed is more than 4 time slower than without SSD Cache.
So, What's I doing wrong here? Thanks in advance.
Product Name: dx2710 MT
Hi,
I couldn't find selection to enable Intel-VT in BIOS of my HP dx2710-MT.

Please advice.

I am trying to setup an additional network card in a HP Pro 3000 small form factor PC.
The card installs without issue and is available for configuration in windows however while the card is installed the DVI port on the mainboard is not available. No monitor connected to the DVI port will detect a signal and the display properties on the workstation will not show a second screen available. Only the VGA port is working while the card is installed.
If the additional network card is removed from the workstation the DVI port will work again as normal, although the screen orientation does have to be configured again.
I have installed the latest bios updates available with no change to the issue.
Thank you for any tips or suggestions on this issue.
